Isabel Marant 2015 Resort Collection: The Isabel Marant resort 2015 lookbook was just released, and if the designer has anything to say about it, Birkenstocks will be sticking around for at least one more season. In the images, featuring model Andreea Diaconu shot by Josh Olins, her version of the shoe takes center stage, and it’s given a signature update with silver grommets.
The perfect pieces for the transitional season, the collection boasts the Birkenstock-inspired slip-on sandals, embroidered and embellished shirt dresses, chic jumpsuits, pleated skirts and gorgeous masculine inspired outwear in perfect navy, camel, black and cream colours.
The results are perfectly casual luxe. We are completely in love with the new designs of the Birkenstock-inspired slip-on sandals, embellished shirt dresses and the masculine inspired outerwear. Discover more from Isabel Marant’s collection below and shop your favorite look here!
J Mendel Resort Collection 2015: Gilles Mendel said his J.Mendel muse is “having a ‘Belle de Jour’ moment” for resort. He channeled a French chic vibe with white silk shirts with ties, short pleated skirts and suits in colors like purple and orange. Little black dresses came in several versions, from flirty with a high waist and flutter skirt, to sophisticated via a straight silhouette and tweed and jacquard paneling.
Shiny beading was thrown into the mix, worked allover on a striped T-shirt gown and on simple tank tops that Mendel said could “go with anything.”
Miu Miu Resort 2015 Collection: On Saturday night in Parisafter showing her resort collection for Miu Miu, Miuccia Prada held up her hands protectively when the scribes approached and declared: “It’s a party!” Then she took her seat at a big mirror-topped dinner table and fell into conversation with filmmaker Roman Polanski.
What could she have said? The theme of the collection was plain: the swirling psychedelic prints, crochet vests and shift dresses telegraphing that groovy late Sixties/early Seventies period, one of the most colorful in fashion history, and one Prada has dipped into previously for her quirky, second designer label. You could almost hear Austin Powers
growling: “Groovy, baby.”
The opening look, a long-sleeved minidress flaring ever so slightly, set tone for the show and established its main silhouette — prim and covered up. The tailored looks resembled uniforms with their neat rows of silver buttons and contrasting yokes and pocket trim. Psychedelic prints eventually took over more real estate: super on chiffon blouses; at times overwhelming on flared trousers. Paisleys were used as appliqué motifs on suede miniskirts or as an allover print on short and snappy coats and dresses. In orange, blue and green shades, they resembled retro wallpaper, a pattern seen elsewhere this resort season.
Rachel Zoe said the woman who will wear her Resort 2013 collection is either “on vacation or she wants to look like she is.” Zoe offered up examples of each, and rounded out her collection with updated versions of ’60s mod dresses, wide-legged trousers, stylized floral prints on shirts and jackets, and suits in a variety of colors from rose to royal blue.
