Jimmy Choo Fall 2014: At the wheel of the coveted London shoe label, Sandra Choi veered it into a whole new direction — fit more for the fashion girl on the run this season rather than the red carpet maven. Latex, buckles and rubber soles replaced some of the jeweled leaves, pheasant feathers and stingray skins we spotted in her spring summer 2014 collection. Her more casual styles, called the Choo.08 included rugged shearling lace-up boots and skater shoes to take today’s working girl from day to night.
“I wanted to build on the duality of the Jimmy Choo woman, she is multi-faceted and in today’s world she plays many roles – some call for statement heels, glamour and Red Carpet worthy sandals whilst others call for a quieter approach, shoes that she can run in and keep up with the demands of her busy life whilst having a strong fashion attitude, it is about striking a balance,” Choi told Now Fashion in an interview, adding that she never set out to make “revolutionary” changes.
Triangle block heels, latex flats lined with lace and latex stilettos with oversized black ribbon were among the main protagonists of the collection.Cross body bags and totes were adorned with chain linked straps and covered in fox, rabbit and gazelle fur.
For evening, the signature Jimmy Choo pointy pump got a makeover — doused in metallics and featuring chunky straps to support the front arch of the foot.
