One advantage of being the oldest luxury goods company in the world is that you have an enviably large and rich archive in which to seek inspiration. Delvaux, a storied Belgian brand known for its elegant handbags in high-quality skins, was founded in 1829 and has repeatedly dipped into its past to introduce new iterations of old classics. Their most recent model is the Madame PM, a streamlined, minimalist bag inspired by Le Marronnier, a design first introduced in 1977.

This time, Delvaux hired Belgian illustrator Valentine De Cort to write and design a book featuring none other than the Madame handbag with its owner, Madame D. The book was inspired in part by the children’s classic, “Eloise in Paris.” Then join fans like Katie Holmes and Sarah Jessica Parker by shopping the Madame exclusively at Barneys New York.
