Over 30 international and British designers have made a 28 inch Pudsey Bear for Children In Need. Curated by Love magazine editor Katie Grand, the unique 2012 Designer Pudsey Collection also features creations from Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Victoria Beckham, Balenciaga, Burberry,Versace and Gucci. Each of the bears will be auctioned at Christie’s on November 15, with all proceeds going to the children’s charity. The 2012 sees Pudsey fashioned with a variety of different fabrics and techniques. From suede to leather, silk to Swarovski Crystals, the diverse designs reflect the creativity and breadth of the fashion industry.
All 30 bears will be showcased exclusively at Selfridges in London and Manchester from October 24 until November 14 .Anya Hindmarch, Paul Smith and Selfridges have also created 10 inch limited edition Designer Pudseys, which will be sold exclusively in Selfridges from October 24, 2012. Post Update, Nov. 16th: The designer Pudsey Bear collection raised over £150,000 for Children in Need at a Christie’s auction in London. Giles Deacon’s Swarovski crystal-encrusted bear sold for the highest amount with a top bid of £24,000, closely followed by the Louis Vuitton Pudsey, auctioned by Marc Jacobs for £20,000. The Tom Ford bear went for £12,000, the Burberry teddy sold for £9,000, while Dior’s and McQueen’s designs made £8,500 each.
