The annual shopping event will take place in 19 markets worldwide, and in multiple cities in countries such as Greece, Brazil and Italy. According to a statement from British Vogue, several markets made the decision to host Fashion’s Night Out in two or more cities.
In Italy, there will be events in Milan, Rome, and Florence; Germany will host nights in Berlin and in Düsseldorf; and in Russia, Moscow and St Petersburg will have their own nights. Mexico, Brazil and Greece will also host nights in multiple cities. The U.S. has already announced it will be holding Fashion’s Night Out on September 6.
“We are delighted to be supporting the fashion and retail sectors again while highlighting the important role fashion plays in the economy of a country,” said Alexandra Shulman, editor of British Vogue. Last year, “numbers of visitors were exceptional, in particular on Bond Street where visitor numbers were up by 92 percent on 2010,” she added. “Street closures and live performances helped boost attendance and create the mood of a stylish street party.”
The various international Vogue Web sites, Twitter and Facebook pages will be giving regular updates on the event as details are confirmed, the statement said. The dates are as follows:
Sept. 6: Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia, Mexico, Australia and Korea
Sept. 7: China, India, Germany and Russia
Sept. 8: Taiwan and Japan
Sept. 10 & 12: Brazil
Sept. 13: Portugal, Italy, Turkey, The Netherlands and Mexico
