Yesterday was the theatrical premiere of God Save My Shoes, written and directed by Julie Benasra. The film will run for an exclusive week-long engagement at the Quad Cinema in NYC and claims to be the first-ever documentary film to explore the “intimate relationship” women have with their high heels. .
The film features shoe closets of the rich and famous, a round up of batty high heel hoarders (the most committed of the bunch is Beth Shak, who proudly keeps 1,200 pairs under lock and key), and, of course, an interview with stiletto king Christian Louboutin, who goes into detail about the “carnal relationship” between a women and her heels.
