“Effortless” is one of Waight Keller’s key descriptors for Chloé, and the ensembles had a thrown-together look that was alluring. Inviting too were the plush textures and powdery pastel colors. A biker-esque jacket came in a keen shade of peach, fuzziness included, while a knitted sweatshirt in a natural shade resembled shearling.

The sporty sensibility sometimes outmuscled the sophistication, as in droopy leather boxing shorts and red jogging pants. But delicate cream blouses with lace tracing the shoulders captured that inimitable Chloé insouciance, as did easy tank dresses with quilting patterns heat-pressed into the skirts. Those are the kind of items that should power the brand as it celebrates its 60th anniversary with a book, a new Paris flagship and other festivities.
