Creative Director: Esther Bauman
Inspirations: Reinterpretations of 40 and 50 years
Colors: The Aquastudio followed two lines of choice of colors: mostly winter (closed blue, wine, copper and other metallic) and to cause some “points of light” summer colors like pink, beige and some details citrus in embroidery.
Silouethes: Forms close in looks structured, mainly. High waists, skirts below the knee, low volume. Medium or short sleeves. The completion of lightweight materials (laminating over with a kind of resin) decreased intentionally volumes, so that everything was aligned and almost geometrical, or futurist.
Materials: solid fabrics such as cotton, satin, synthetic and “cyber” (a kind of imitation leather) have combined with the extremely light tulle and organza.
Highlights: The choice of materials and how they worked with the designer is the great point of collection. If Esther wanted to keep the modeling standards rigidly elegance of 40 and 50 years, materials creation was very experimental and artisanal (workpieces manually inclusive). To recreate the texture, applications were made, embroidery and rolled on the transparencies. Highlights for the long dress that comes with laminated layers of tie-dye. “I wanted people to see the textures up close,” was the message that the designer gave the FFW before entering the runway.
