I love the way Dea Rosa is exploring new techniques in her new collection mixing exotic skins and cashmere, inspired by her last trip to Cambodia. One grouping of bags is crafted with new “wool python” – authentic python skin is backed with wool, and then undergoes a special process in the tannery giving it a fabric-like finish.  The effect is a graceful and cozy feel, perfect for the season.
The collection is handcrafted by expert Milanese artisans. Their minimalist architecture tames the fiercely provocative nature of the materials, rendering them both luxurious and genuinely, effortlessly chic.

Founder and Creative Director Andria Mitsakos launched Dea Rosa as a tribute to her late grandmother, Rose, a sample shoe maker who had an inherent eye for design, a woman who was ahead of her time. In 2010—the year that marked Rose’s 100th birthday—Mitsakos unveiled a collection of exotic skin handbags that echoes Rose’s sensibility: an understated glamour that effortlessly combines style and substance. Strong shapes softened by texture and palette. A subtle clutch that easily works for lunch in New York and dinner in Milan. Inspired and enhanced by her travels, Dea Rosa embraces freedom.
