Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld unveiled his annual Metier d’Arts collection inspired by India. The line was shown last night at the Galerie Courbe at the Grand Palais, Paris.
Bombay was used as a source of ideas for the luxurious clothes. And even though Lagerfeld himself was never in India, he has succeeded once again on putting together an impressive presentation and collection.
“It’s the Paris version of the idea of India,” Lagerfeld said. “It’s not a trip for documentation. I’m against reality. My life is already a reality show.”
The Grand Palais was transformed into a splendid Taj Mahal. The guests enjoyed the show on long, opposite High Tea tables, while the models in their fine, richly decorated robes walked along.
