Noritaka Tatehana was born in Japan 1985, to the family acquired earnings in the centre of an entertainment and red-light district in Tokyo, Kabuki-cho. He initially starts creating shoes and clothes when he was 15, all self-taught.
In later years he majors dyeing and weaving in Tokyo National University of the Arts, creates and dyes kimonos and wooden clogs utilized yu-zen dyeing. Not only his prominent shoe collections are held with admiration in fashion industry, but also from art fields.
Collection pieces are hand-executed exclusively by the designer himself in all details of process. His F/W 2010-11 collection has been permanently stored up in Museum at FIT NY, also known as offering skyscraping platform shoes for Lady Gaga. Launches his own signature brand, NORITAKA TATEHANA on 2010.
