Oh, the irony of it all. For an industry that consist of too many too-thin types, the fashion folk attending Thursday’s Balenciaga runway show at 10 am got a rude awakening that jolted them to their stilettoed feet.
Several benches of seating collapsed under their weight during the show sending several people sprawling to the floor.
WWD, the fashion industry’s trade paper reported that Balenciaga’s CEO used the PA system to ask the audience — which included such style luminaries as Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Allure editor Linda Wells, stylist Carine Roitfeld, fashion photographer Mario Testino and actresses Catherine Deneuve, Salma Hayek and Chiara Mastroianni — to stand for the rest of the show…
